Next Tuesday Messe Basel will open its doors to the Swiss construction world. From 16-19 January 2024, planners and builders, players from research, institutions and industry will gather at Swissbau 2024. “Building Future Together” is the motto of this year’s construction trade fair. It invites and encourages people to engage with the future topics of construction together. Two representatives from Lüchinger+Meyer will also be actively involved in this discourse as part of the event programme of the Swissbau Focus collaboration platform.
On Tuesday, the panel discussion “Architecture on the move: New job profiles” organised by the ZHAW will pose the important question of what education and training must achieve today in order to prepare architects and civil engineers for their key roles in the professional world of tomorrow. Together with dialogue partners from the field of architecture, civil engineer Daniel Meyer will discuss the new challenges for the next generation of planners in the field of tension between the five “Rs” of construction – Reduce, Reuse, Refurbish, Repurpose and Recycle, which will complement the classic technical, design and construction skills.
The following day, Philippe Willareth, Head of Façade Construction at Lüchinger+Meyer, will take part in the keynote session “Heat pumps and façades in the context of resource efficiency and the circular economy in buildings”. His input will focus on the industrial re-use and re-manufacturing of opaque wall structures and façades. This event is organised by the SIA.
