We recommend the December issue of the magazine Stahlbau to all of our co-workers who will miss work during the upcoming festive season. The current issue is devoted to the Swiss (steel) construction process and has got two readable reports about the Prix Acier-winning buildings. The inclined reader also discovers our multilateral story “Long-span, stacked, and hybrid – the load-carrying structure of the OYM” to the sporty project in Cham. The authors Reto Furrer and Matthias Kunze present in detail the complexity of the building, explain the connections between the design of the structure and the mixture of uses, describe the various selected systems, their structural design and the assembly. Numerous graphics and photographs from the construction site illustrate the story. (The opening ceremony of the building is planned for 2020.)
