Graduate runners – SOLA-Stafette 2024

‘It alternates between pain and pleasure. Enjoy when you can, and suffer when you must.’ We don’t know whether Goethe was an endurance runner, but his words aptly describe the emotions of our SOLA athletes. Ideal weather conditions, the spring-like splendour of nature and the great collective love of sport fuelled the joy of running. This was offset by the stresses and strains of the competition, such as ‘burning’ thighs, calf cramps, side stitches and shortness of breath on the climbs.

We are delighted and proud to add another diploma to our SOLA relay chronicle. Our 14 runners completed the 112.9 km distance yesterday in a very brisk 9:36:12. The Lüchinger+Meyer relay team with starting number 918 came 202nd, just missing out on a place in the top fifth of the overall ranking of the 1005 teams. Three L+M athletes even achieved double-digit rankings on their sections of the course. Congratulations to all the sporty participants!
A worthy end to the successful day with sausage & beer, salad and cake was a must. Together we celebrated the special feeling of togetherness of the event until dusk fell over the Irchelpark.
