At school on Saturday

Although a five-day week has been the norm in the Swiss educational system for a long time, it is with great pleasure that the students of the German School of Geneva will have an extra day on Saturday. The school invites them to its traditional summer feast, which this year will be accompanied by a very special event: the inauguration of the new south campus. This extension is the first step in the evolution of the DSG into a two-track school. Since 2020, students, faculty and staff have been able to follow the construction of the new building closely. From now on, the five-story building, which welcomes a gymnastics hall in the basement, a school canteen with kitchen on the first floor and classrooms on the upper floors, will be delivered to eager visitors.

At the same time, Soliman Zurkirchen Architekten and the structural engineers from Lüchinger+Meyer have come together once again: 15 years after the completion of the main building, the successful collaboration in Vernier ends with the completion of the extension. In the same constructive and creative spirit, the exposed concrete facades and truss girders also determine the expression and statics of the new building.
