Opening party at Bahnhofplatz in Altdorf
A big bustle is announced for next Saturday at the station in Altdorf. The Urner Kantonalbank and the companies that have leased space there are inviting the people of Uri to a big public festival to celebrate the opening of the new building Bhf#1 Bahnhofplatz 1. The local culture and culinary delights will be celebrated from 10 am to 5 pm. In addition to music and entertainment, guests can expect a market with specialities, handcrafts and innovations from Uri. In addition, interested visitors can take an exclusive tour of the building and take a look at the office of UKB.
Among the guests will be the civil and facade engineers from Lüchinger+Meyer, who helped to bring the successful competition design to impressive completion together with Buchner Bründler architects, the company Proplaning and the further involved specialists.
The photo stream on the project page gives an idea of the complex tasks our engineers and draughtsmen were confronted with during the project. The construction of the prestressed suspension structure, which ensures the building cantilevers and the reduction of the number of columns on the ground floor, the planning of the filigree exposed concrete components and the steel spiral ramp, as well as the construction near the railway tracks, were the greatest challenges.
We are pleased about the appreciative gesture of the building owner, who invites the planning team to a breakfast before the start of the opening celebration to look back together on the construction period and to honour the milestone.
