The Freudenau Mill Replacement Project involved the construction of a new office and residential building to replace the existing Freudenau Mill silo. It forms the “pilot project” for the conversion of the disused industrial mill site near the Rickenbach village center.
The existing silo was demolished except for the foundation plate and various exterior walls in contact with the ground. The new building consists of two basement floors and seven floors above ground, whereby the two basement floors are also above ground due to the slope on the south side. A central tower with a height of approx. 25 m was erected in the area of the previously existing silo, with three- and four-story building sections adjoining to the west and south.
