On the site of the Horburg housing estate in Basel, a densification of the development is to take place. The project comprises two residential towers with heights of 52 m (17 floors) and 28 m (9 floors), which are connected by a base building. The building complex is to house around 100 apartments as well as commercial space and a café. A new kindergarten is planned in a separate pavilion on Horburgplatz. Furthermore, the construction of a new single-story underground parking garage between the existing apartment buildings is planned.
The project will be realized as a classical skeleton structure in concrete with flat slabs and vertical load-bearing elements such as columns and walls. The load-bearing structures of both high-rise buildings will be braced mainly with the access cores arranged centrally in the ground plan as well as additional wall slabs.
