Discovering Architecture and Structures in Western Switzerland

We are looking forward to discovery tours of architecture and engineering in Western Switzerland this weekend. The “SIA Days 2023” (Journées SIA) will open more than 100 doors and gates to contemporary architecture and engineering structures from June 2 to 4. The twelfth edition of this event is again characterized by great diversity and illustrates the wide field of activity of SIA professionals. It ranges from small to large residential buildings and public buildings to urban design and landscape architecture.
Among the numerous buildings included in the program, there are three projects in which the structural engineers of Lüchinger+Meyer were involved. On Saturday, June 3, two public buildings can be visited. From concrete to wood construction: The German School of Geneva in Vernier invites interested visitors to the rooms of the new South Campus, which was designed in collaboration with Soliman Zurkirchen Architects.

A good 100 km to the north in Bussy-sur-Moudon in the canton of Vaud, the new community hall by emixi Architectes can be discovered on the same day. Already on Friday, June 2, two guided tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. will offer exclusive opportunities to visit the three renovated reception rooms in Geneva City Hall. Now that the renovation works under the direction of Mondada Frigerio Dupraz Architectes are completed, the historic rooms appear in a new splendor.
