steelweek+. Strong title. Strong topic. Strong programm. After the tremendous success of steelday 2018, metal.suisse, the umbrella association for steel, metal and facade construction, invites you to a large networking, discussion and information event from October 4th to October 7th. Considering the difficult conditions the organizers had to face, a new format was sought and found. steelweek+ focuses mainly on digital broadcast. From Monday to Thursday during lunchtime there will be 90-minute discussion rounds on the topic “Metals in construction – innovative and circular”, which will be streamed live from the studio as online sessions. These will be hosted by TEC editor-in-chief Judit Solt. The award ceremonies of this year’s Prix Acier will be held in the personal and festive setting of the Kursaal Bern on the evening of October 7th, 2021 and will form the “grand finale” of steelweek+.
There are three reasons why Lüchinger+Meyer is looking forward to the event with anticipation and excitement. First, our long-lasting membership in the SZS and SZFF, as well as our general interest in steel and metal construction led us to support this event as a partner. Secondly, Daniel Meyer, an L+M representative, will be live in action during the lunchtime sessions. On Tuesday, he will take part in a discussion about “Modern metal production” and give a keynote speech about “Thinking from the big to the small – choice of materials in structural and facade planning”. Lastly, we are very curious to see whether one of our submitted projects will be awarded the prestigious steel construction prize on Thursday evening and we are looking forward to having personal encounters with colleagues once again.
