Lunch in a commercial building

6 kilometres separate ETH Zurich Hönggerberg from the newly developed Zwhatt site in Regensdorf (www.zwhatt.ch). Tomorrow’s lunch colloquium will bring the civil engineers of the “Akademischer Ingenieur:innen-Verein” very close to the construction work there. Our project manager Flavio Wanninger will present the commercial building, one of the first realised sub-projects of the ambitious development project by Pensimo Management AG on behalf of the owner, Anlagestiftung Turidomus. The successful competition design with Graser Troxler Architekten already included a supporting structure that is strongly orientated towards commercial use. To allow the daylight to penetrate as deeply as possible into the rooms, the load-bearing elements have been stacked one on top of the other.

The two-storey basement was constructed using in-situ concrete. Prefabricated concrete and composite elements were used for the six storeys above. In addition to the columns and beams of the skeleton structure, the cantilevered TT floor elements were also prefabricated in the factory and only had to be assembled on site.
In the second part of his presentation, Flavio Wanninger will explain the project planning and realisation of the timber-concrete hybrid building “Haus Totoro”.

We look forward to a lively interest in the event!
