On the planks, ready, go! – Ski day 2020 Laax

This year’s skiing and winter hiking day took place on the last day of January and brought us to the Flims Laax ski area. Despite all the bad weather forecasts, which had dampened the pleasant anticipation during the week, we found ideal alpine conditions for snow sports enjoyment. We actively enjoyed the distance from everyday life. The perfectly prepared slopes covered with some fresh snow, almost all lifts in operation, no crowds of visitors, many hours of sunshine and views as far as Italy… On skis and snowboards we raced down the hills between Crap Sogn Gion, Treis Palas, Plaun and Vorab, while the winter hikers in the team were impressed by the view of the fairy-tale foggy Lake Cauma.

Another reason for joy and well-being was the accompanying gastronomic programme. At noon we were served exquisitely in the Tegia Larnags – within ski pole distance of the valley run to Laax. In the evening, we were welcomed by the inviting Gasthaus am Brunnen in Valendas. Chef Matthias Althof and his team conjured up almost unbelievable delights on our plates, while Europe’s largest wooden fountain could be discovered in front of the door.
