The “12 Friends” are erected
After 10 years of development, planning and realization, the “Les Amis” residential park in the Mett district of Biel is prior to its completion. Some time has passed since the shell of the nearly identical residential buildings, called “12 Friends“, has been completed. The first construction phase found its end in 2016, the entering of the six last replacement buildings will start in the beginning of March. The building society Narzissenweg has celebrated the joint success with an official roofing ceremony on 21st of February.
Since the competition success in 2011, the structural and façade planners of Lüchinger+Meyer have been involved alongside :mlzd into the largest cooperative replacement construction project in the canton of Berne.
In addition to 138 apartments, the residential park offers a numerous amount of community services to its multicoloured residents – childcare, a shared lunch table, fitness rooms, guest rooms, communal rooms and a garden – a settlement with a role model in the cooperative town of Biel.
