Way to grow – Glass Performance Days 2023

Spring in Tampere. Once again, the Finnish metropolis will be the meeting point for glass experts from all over the world. From June 13 to 16, the Glass Performance Days will open its doors. It offers players from research, planning and industry a proven forum for exchanging ideas and communicating innovations and research results. As always, the façade planners from Lüchinger+Meyer will be among the guests at the networking event, and this year they will be in action on several occasions.
The GPD traditionally begin with workshops. Philippe Willareth will participate in the talk on the topic “Clarity Revisited – (re)shaping the future of glass”. On the morning of June 14, this event will mark the start of the two-day workshop “Opportunities in a circular economy approach to the glazing industry”.
The actual conference will take place on the two following days. Parallel sessions under six thematic focuses will offer a wide range of information and experience reports from the world of glass. Participants will be spoilt for choice.

We are pleased to recommend the two contributions of our conference representatives. In his presentation “Resource-optimised pavilion glazing through the interplay of structure and façade” under the focus of façade planning, Jona Vetterli will present the planning of the Greenhouse Pavilion at Operaparken Copenhagen. From lightweight construction practice to applied research: As part of the “Glass and Sustainability in Buildings” sessions, Philippe Willareth and Enrico Cutri (Dow) will take the Stage 6 together. Their presentation “Silicones – an important enabler of sustainable design” will focus on experiments in the re-use and re-manufacturing of glass using silicone. It will report on the first specific application experiences of the technology in the Herostrasse façade restoration project.
