Providing medical treatment at a university level in the city of Basel in the coming years is the aim of the generational project “Campus Health” project. The University Hospital Basel, the University of Basel and the Canton of Basel-Stadt are attending together a Press conference providing information about the future Plans for the development of the hospital area. Already the announcement of the key figures clearly shows the ambition the building project appertains to.
In terms of duration and budget, those responsible are shouldering a project of superlatives: In the next two decades investments around 1.4 billion Swiss francs will be devoted into the expansion and modernization of the hospital site as part of an ongoing construction process.
The first construction phase between 2022 and 2028 entangles the construction of the new tower and the Clinic 2 annex building. After the completion of the Clinic 3 by 2030, the new Clinic 2 should finally be completed between 2031 and 2038 with the construction of its base building.

«With our construction project we are sending a strong signal for the location of Basel to our partners, to the people in the region and to all of Switzerland» sums up hospital director Dr. Werner Kübler in his own words about the ambitious project.
