Tension in Altdorf
The final stage of structural work in Altdorf. With the laying of the prestressing cables in the girders above the 4th floor, our civil engineers and designers are starting the final stage of the realisation of the new bank, railway and service building at Bahnhofplatz 1. Meanwhile, the exposed concrete structures of the completed floors are already indicating the special elegance of the building and its high-quality execution. Our façade engineers will soon be able to follow the realisation of the building envelope they have designed.
Lüchinger+Meyer has been supporting the project since the joint competition success with Buchner Bründler Architekten and Proplaning in the specialist fields of structural and façade planning. The new building, which forms the centrepiece of the infrastructure project for a new public transport hub on the Gotthard, is scheduled for completion next year. The fact that the execution of the shell construction is “on schedule” is a good sign that the ambitious schedule will be fulfilled.
