Looking and building – Future Day 2021

Vivienne, Arkan, Luca, Rodrigo and Sebi were our employees of the day yesterday. Following Malcolm X’s advice “The future belongs to the people who prepare for it today”, they had accepted our invitation to spend the National Future Day at our office in Zurich. As always, the schoolchildren were able to discover how their father, sister, brother or godmother spends their working days in our engineering office and gain an insight into the various professions that work together under the Lüchinger+Meyer umbrella.
In addition, a varied programme awaited our visitors once again. The informative introduction with illustrative project examples on our passions of structural and façade planning was followed by a tour on the construction site and excavation pit at Talwiesenstrasse, where the structural work for a new residential development is just beginning on the basis of our planning.

The afternoon was reserved for testing spatial imagination and manual skills. Under the guidance of our apprentices, the students created scale models of a small house that our apprentice team had previously designed and drawn.

We would like to thank our young guests for their interest and eager participation and all those involved for their active support of the successful event! It would be nice if we could spark some enthusiasm for construction technology and planning. Seeing each other again is a pleasure.
