The unloved 2020. Many bitter and unpleasant things were said about the past year, and people everywhere said goodbye to it with relief. Despite all the unfavourable circumstances and restrictions, we can draw a positive balance of our office year. A number of projects were completed, some of which we had been working on with great energy for several years. We would like to take another look at 2020 with a mini-series that portrays a selection of small and large project successes of the previous year.
The first project is the “Zihl Nidau – Living on the Waterfront” housing project, which our structural engineers have been working on since 2011. A study contract won together with :mlzd formed the basis for the new buildings. Almost 10 years later, the new residents can now look forward to moving into the more than 50 flats on the river bank of the Zihl. The four identical apartment buildings in solid construction were designed according to the “live-through” principle. The floor plans extend over the entire depth of the building, which not only ensures plenty of light, but also strong external references to the idyllic surroundings on the river bank.
