The newly designed pedestrian jetty is the last connecting section in a continuous lakeside path between the town and Wollishofen harbour. The jetty is designed as three interlinked sections from the “red factory” to the harbour at Wollishofen. It comprises a slender steel structure surfaced with wooden planks. The structure is supported on posts at 15-metre intervals. A handrail is to be constructed as a filigree rope net.

To allow access within the bay for the river police and the residents’ boats, one section is designed to rotate horizontally.  The extensive safety requirements with regard to shipping lanes and the poor bearing capacity of the soil at foundation level presented particular challenges.
