The project included the overall refurbishment of the listed Staudenbühl school swimming facility in Zurich-Seebach (existing building: architect Rolf Keller, built 1968-1969). Essentially, the energy optimization of the building envelope, the renewal of the energy technology, the building services, the pool water technology, the internal surfaces as well as the installation of a lifting floor were carried out. The existing garage is now used as the swimming instructor’s office. A generous opening allows a large part of the swimming pool to be overlooked from the office.
The pool itself was equipped with a lifting floor. For this purpose, the bottom of the pool was deepened, the interior concrete shell was demolished and the pool was rebuilt according to the new geometry. In the basement, the shelter room was converted into a chemical storage room and the technical control center was renewed.
The work was carried out without interrupting school operations.
