The new buildings constructed on the Maag site are to be connected via the shortest route to the platforms of the Hardbrücke railway station by a new pedestrian underpass.

The project involves the construction of an underpass beneath the lower level tracks, which will be accessed via stairs leading down to it. These stairs will run parallel to the existing western underpass. Lifts are to be installed at either side for people with reduced mobility and people with pushchairs. Plenty of daylight is directed into the underpass, for the benefit and well-being of the users.

The new underpass is to be constructed without interruption to the railway operation, using temporary bridges for protection. The load-bearing structure comprises a durable and robust concrete supporting structure.
