LM on stage

Yesterday the stage was set twice for Lüchinger+Meyer team members at Swiss technical events for the construction and planning industry. In the morning, Reto Furrer shared our experiences in the application of BIM2Field in the project work with the visitors of the Swiss Dimensions 2023 on the Sursee campus. The congress, which takes place every two years, focuses on the opportunities and possibilities of digitalisation in the construction industry using practical and execution-oriented technologies, solutions and products. In his presentation “Successfully Implementing BIM2Field Projects”, Reto Furrer described the specific methods that were used in our projects, pointed out advantages and potential conflicts, and showed our conclusions for the future application of the technology.

From the future of construction to the history of structural engineering. In the afternoon, Borja Herraiz’s contribution “Retrofitting the ribbed slabs of a historic building with UHPFRC” found an interested audience on the occasion of the Fourth Symposium “Ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced composite material: design, calculate, construct“, which took place at the University of Applied Sciences in Freiburg. Using the example of the restoration project for the conversion of the office building Du Pont in Zurich, the speaker followed the aim of the conference, which was to exchange experiences on the use of UHPFRC technology with regard to project design, calculation and construction, and to illustrate the application potential – especially in the context of sustainability.
