YES – the Young Engineers’ Symposium of the iabse Switzerland celebrates its anniversary. For the tenth time, young civil engineers meet today at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts to exchange experiences, network and present their own initial projects and professional expériences. After active involvement in previous events, Lüchinger+Meyer is exceptionally sending a “senior engineer” to the circle of young engineers for this anniversary: The guests can expect an exciting keynote speech from our partner and office founder Daniel Meyer.
In his lecture “Creating sustainable landmarks of tomorrow – from an engineer’s point of view”, he will focus on statically optimized and slender structures in the context of sustainability and will explicitly focus on hybrid structures. After some general considerations, Daniel Meyer goes into the subject in more detail using the current project examples Tilia Tower and Atlassian Tower – two hybrid high-rise buildings in Lausanne and Sydney – as well as the new University of Applied Sciences Center in Chur.
