Two times yes for school projects

We followed today’s referendum decisions in Bülach and Zurich with great excitement and are now pleased about the positive votes of the electorate for two school projects in which Lüchinger+Meyer is actively involved.
Bülach’s citizens voted in favour of the extension and renovation of the Allmend school complex. 79% of Bülach’s voters approved the CHF 49 million project credit. This means green light for our structural and façade planners, together with ERNE plus and Ernst Niklaus Fausch Architekten, to work on the successful competition proposal in the project design stage and to bring it to execution stage. A new school building for 12 classes and a triple sports hall in timber-concrete hybrid construction are to be added to the primary school complex, and the existing school building will be refurbished.

Proposition 5 of the city of Zurich referendum also received a convincing 80% approval. The citizens of Zurich approved expenditure of 231 million Swiss francs for the replacement of the Saatlen school complex in the Schwamendingen district, which will be the largest and most versatile school complex in the city. Our façade planners were happy to continue working on the project alongside Bollhalder Eberle Architektur, which is based on the competition success of 2020.
