Energie 360 ° wants to optimise its headquarters in Zurich-Altstetten sustainably and supplement it with a new building. The study contract from the department of structural engineering of the city of Zurich has now come to an end. The jury unanimously chose the convincing project “balance” from the work group around jessenvollenweider architektur and architekturbüro bosshard und partner. “With its slim expansion, the building looks elegant and gives the existing buildings a face in the new built railway station district.” Lüchinger + Meyer supported the planning team in function of the responsible structural planner. The success for our office is much more than “just” a won study contract. It is rather a fantastically prospered project history Lüchinger + Meyer already planned and realized the construction of the existing building during the years 2000 to 2003. The restoration and enlargement has now been the subject of competition.
At the same time, we are pleased that the project is being started without much hesitation. In the third quarter of 2019 the building owner expects the preliminary project to be completed. The 41.5 million Swiss francs building with its total of 370 jobs is expected to be completed by 2022. The concept provides minor interventions in the supporting structure of the existing building, the extension building itself will be placed with an independent steel structure. The slim building has two longitudinally directed carrying axles, which are shaped as a framework on the top floor. These traverses two generous spans and project out sideways.
All project proposal entries can be viewed from 21st of November till 1st of December 2018 in the official exhibition at the Pavillon Werd on Morgartenstrasse 40 in 8004 Zurich.
