The book about the swimming pool

Since January 29, Zurich’s city centre has had its swimming hotspot back: the City indoor swimming hall has opened its doors, gates and pools to water lovers. The renovated sports pool presents itself to its guests with classic elegance, which consistently takes up the original architecture of the building, high comfort and functionality. The swimming pool owes its bright shine not least to the new folding glass roof, which was developed with the significant participation of the facade engineers of Dr. Lüchinger+Meyer AG.

The commissioning is accompanied by a special kind of reading pleasure. Behind the sober title “Hallenbad City Zürich 2013 – Raum Zeit Gebrauch” lies a publication by ernst niklaus fausch architekten, which illuminates the history, conversion process and architecture of the swimming pool in detail in three issues. Elaborately illustrated, versatile and of high quality, enriched with literary quotations on the fascination of swimming – a must, not only for sports enthusiasts, but also for those interested in Zurich’s architectural history and spa architecture. The publication will be published in March and can be ordered directly from the publishers.
