Challenge in Schlieren
Warm early summer weather promised unclouded outdoor fun on Saturday, but the ball-loving athletes from Lüchinger+Meyer were drawn into the semi-darkness of the Unterrohr sports hall in Schlieren. 16 football teams gathered for the traditional Challenge CUP, a fixed item in the annual sports calendar of the engineering offices.
Two close 0:1 defeats at the beginning of the tournament against the later semi-finalists Locher Ingenieure and Emch+Berger unfortunately put an early end to our title dreams. But afterwards, our team managed to secure 9th place in the table with an impressive series of victories – 4:0 each against ACS Partner and Bänziger Partner Zurich and 4:2 against Walt Galmarini.
We congratulate our kickers on their strong performance and look forward with confidence to defending our title at the 18th Architekt:innen Football Tournament in a month’s time. A special applause goes to our intern Lise Bachmann, who scored in every game we won and became our top scorer.
The winner’s trophy remains in the house of Locher Ingenieure. Congratulations on successfully defending the title and thank you very much for the excellent organisation of the tournament!
