The blue Lüchinger+Meyer construction helmet clearly bears the marks of a “real” job on the construction site. Appearances are not deceptive. A construction site internship lasting several weeks in the 3rd year of training is an essential part of our training programme for draughtsmen EFZ civil engineering. This autumn, our apprentice Silvan has the opportunity to switch from the planning side to the execution side and at the same time to experience clearly and actively how the drawn structural elements are transformed into real components. Ideally, Silvan will be able to complete his internship as part of a project in which he himself was involved in the execution planning.
The planning of the apartment block on Besenrainstrasse and Morgentalstrasse in Zurich is a collaboration with Froelich & Hsu Architekten. Silvan drew up numerous reinforcement plans for the new building, which was planned as a massive structure.
Many thanks to Implenia Switzerland for giving our youngster this exciting insight into construction practice! In particular, we would like to thank site manager André Eichmann for the friendly and pragmatic organisation of the internship.
