The second birth of the Fischerstube

The old-established Fischerstube belongs to the Zürichhorn like the Böögg to the Sechseläuten folk festival. Built for the national exhibition in 1939 and rebuilt after a fire in 1956, the aged stilt houses on lake Zurich will get a completely restoration. On 19th of December, the project proposal has been confirmed unanimously by the city parliament of Zurich. The replacement will include the ensemble of Fischerstube and Fischerhütte. Together with the architecture office Patrick Thurston, we are looking forward to this early Christmas present and the upcoming execution of our successful competition design Fischers Lust from 2009.

The new Fischerstube will have 290 seats and – following the original construction – a spacious terrace, which will extend sideways towards the city. The opening for the new construction is planned for the second quarter of 2021. We also will be happy to use the local experience to realize the neighbouring project Marina Tiefenbrunnen.
