Running open doors…

… you can do it in the truest sense of the word on April 28 in Rorschach: The newly opened Würth administration building with training centre (WATZ) on the shores of Lake Constance invites interested visitors to an open day.

The building is 170m long and, with its striking glass facade, presents itself as a new land- and sea-side eye-catcher in equal measure. First place in the 2009 competition gave the starting signal for the four-year construction and planning period, while Dr. Lüchinger+Meyer worked as structural engineer alongside Gigon / Guyer Architects.

The special technical challenge consisted in the construction of the approx. 25.5m cantilevered museum roof, today without doubt one of the special characteristics of the building.

Also in the future the “WATZ” is always worth a journey. And not only for the 170 employees who have moved into their new workplaces in the building, but also for the general public: around a third of the building is reserved for art, events and gastronomy.
