On your marks, let’s go!

OYM  – On your marks. The name says it all. The responsible persons and planners of the sports project went to the construction site at Chamer Lorzenpark on August 28 to check out the start of the construction. The centre of excellence for elite athletics and research is primarily focused on ice hockey. Next to an ice rink and a triple sports hall, the centre will unite four 80m sprint courses and 3’000m2 athletics training areas under one roof. With 25 double rooms, the sports facility is also an ideal location for training camps. In addition, rooms will be available for the scientific evaluation of training results.

The OYM is to be completed in time for the Ice Hockey World Championship 2020 in Switzerland and will be available as a training centre and team accomodation. Our construction and facade engineers were also among the visitors. Togehter with Lüscher Architekten, they developed the challenging project and are now actively implementing it alongside the Axess Architekten. The highly complex supporting structure of the stacked halls envisages a mixture of a concrete construction combined with a composite and steel construction.
