Huge girders on the triple-sports hall

The project planning engineers are familiar with dimensional plans. When it comes to see the real dimensions of the building, they are often astonished. That’s exactly what happened yesterday in Neukirch-Egnach. The huge roof girders, made of laminated timber, have been installed on the triple sports hall. The athletic dimensions are announcing the later use of the building. The ten double girders are approx. 2.4m high and have a total weight of 17 tons each.

The overall project for the school planning in Neukirch Egnach is finding its end with the construction of the triple-sports hall. Due to a first prize in a competition, Lüchinger+Meyer realized this project together with Waeber / Dickenmann / Partner Architekten. The neighboring new secondary school has being brought into operation in 2016.
