The existing facade of the Novartis childcare centre in Basel is being decorated – colourful larch beams from Engadin add a rainbow of playful decorative elements to the existing concrete facade.

The facade engineers from Dr. Lüchinger + Meyer, under a contract from Metall Werk Zurich AG, are responsible for the dimensioning of the anchor brackets. During this project, stainless steel brackets are being turned into universal anchoring components that can be used anywhere. An optimal interplay between fixed anchor points and those “floating” on the facade guarantee optimal mounting of the wooden materials.
