Prix Bilan de l’immobilier 2020

The fact that the new Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet in Le Brassus is not only highly regarded nationally and internationally, but also enjoys a literally excellent reputation in its “homeland”, is demonstrated by this year’s award of the Prix Bilan de l’immobilier. It is the ninth time that “the most outstanding architectural achievements of the year” in French-speaking Switzerland have been honoured with this award, organised by the magazine Bilan and the SVIT regional association. On the 15th of September, the award ceremony took place in Lausanne’s spacious Vaudoise aréna in the presence of 150 guests, at which the Clock and Watch Museum received the award in the “Public Building” category. The structural and façade designers of Lüchinger+Meyer, as well as the client and the architects of BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group and CCHE, are delighted with this appreciation.

It should be emphasized that the appreciation is not only related to the new construction of the glass double spiral (BIG, CCHE), but equally to the “House of the Founder” (“La Maison des Fondateurs”), which was completely renovated by CCHE and converted into a museum. The architectural concept of a sensitive intervention has been developed in close collaboration with historians from Audemars Piguet and local craftsmen to revive the original atmosphere of the historic building constructed in 1868. This conversion project was also supported by our structural engineers.
The exhibition of the winners of the Prix Bilan de l’immobilier 2020 can be visited from the 18th of September at the SVIT premises (Av. de Rumine 13, 1005 Lausanne) or in digital form here.
