Focus on hospital constructions

And once again we read a themed issue of Hochparterre with particular enthusiasm …
The special issue “Das gute Spital” (The Good Hospital) from October 2019 presents current hospital construction projects in Switzerland on 40 pages, as usual in appreciated depth and detail. Lüchinger+Meyer’s structural and facade engineers are or were actively involved in three of the presented buildings. Our structural engineers have been intensively engaged in the planning of Clinical Centre 2 of the University Hospital in Basel since their joint success in the architectural competition alongside giuliani.hönger architekten (p. 21). It is no coincidence that this highly complex project is presented under the title “Der Kraftakt” (show of strength).

Meanwhile, our façade designers look back with pride on two buildings that have already been completed, which the magazine presents under the heading “Facade”. Both for the new organ centre at the Inselspital in Bern (“Nobel”, p. 26/27, Schneider & Schneider) and for the Bürgerspital Solothurn (“Skulptural”, p. 24/25/37, Silvia Gmür Reto Gmür) remarkable building skins could be realised. The striking Solothurn Brise-Soleils have even made it onto the front page of the themed issue.

The themed issue can be read as e-paper.
